Daniel Nardicio’s Dream Academy at Easton Mountain

When you hear the name Daniel Nardicio you automatically think about some of the most amazing events, underwear parties, half-naked (or naked) boys, and of course, Fire Island. But you’ll be shocked to know that the party promoter – just like any other gay guy – is more than just booze and ass.

However, I’m going to be honest; when I first arrived to Daniel Nardicio’s Dream Academy last weekend at Easton Mountain I didn’t know what to expect… all I knew is that I was going to be bonding with a bunch of strangers in the middle of nowhere.
Much to my surprise, ‘the gay getaway’ turned out to be a wonderful-learning experience. First of all, let’s talk about the beauty of this place; doesn’t it look just like the background of a Disney movie? Cabins surrounded by pines, snow, the mountains, more snow and even a frozen lake. #breathtaking. Plus the staff was super nice and the food, oh my god, superb!
Having the opportunity to mingle and get to know other gay guys outside the bars felt pretty amazing. Throughout the weekend, in the workshops we all shared some of our proudest achievements and long-term goals and with everybody’s help and input we all set realistic actions to achieve those. I can genuinely say we became a strong community during our stay there.

On the other hand, we also had the opportunity to relax, play and explore: Yoga classes early in the morning, hiking trips around the land, massage exchange, Jacuzzi time (clothing optional) – my favorite, a comedy show by Adam Sank – and Lady. And obviously the infamous underwear party… Bravo! To DJ Michael Vespe who kept us dancing all night long.

Beyond any doubt a remarkable weekend! I came back to the city with a clear mind and more than a dozen new friends. Can’t wait for the next one (possibly in early May).
