2(x)ist SS2014: Colorful Minimalistic Lines

It’s no secret I’m an underwear addict/connoisseur, so I was thrilled to attend the 2(x)ist SS2014 Runway Show in New York, last week.
2(x)ist has been in the market for more than 20 years, and it’s one of those brands every gay man must have. The fabrics, the cut and style, all fit the anatomy of the male body perfectly!
For next season, Creative Director Jason Scarlatti – whom I talked to backstage before the show – takes architecture as inspiration for the collection. The different silhouettes served as a canvas for dynamic linear designs, fresh and abstract patterns, and even chevron panels on the side. All of these elements – without forgetting their signature pop of color – came together and showed a collection that is fun and minimalistic yet modern and active, excellent for the contemporary man.

His favorite design, and mine too, is the ‘Pro’ line; basic and clean featuring the waistband hidden on the inside. It is poles apart from previous designs. As far as what we can expect from the brand in the future, Scarlatti said:
“We are open to anything, even collaborating with sport stars or celebrities, but for now, our models and fans are celebrities in our hearts.”
Male model Emmett Pugh
Among the models walking down the runway were Andre Ziehe, Antonio Guzzo, and my absolute favorite that night, Emmett Pugh. And before making my way back to my seat, I snapped a few photos of the boys hanging out, just for your eyes! Am I amazing or what?

Altogether, 2(x)ist put on a fantastic show and presented a great collection. I can’t wait to get my hands on some of the pieces. Summer hurry up!
